The Stratton Elementary Valentine’s Dance is just around the corner, and voting for our Kings and Queens has begun! There will be a King & Queen for each dance (PK-2nd and 3rd-5th). Voting jars are located in the breezeway at Stratton Elementary.
•25¢ = 1 Vote
•Voting ends February 16.
•Kings & Queens will be announced during the Valentines Dance on February 17 (PK-2nd: 4:15-5:30; 3rd-5th: 5:45-7:00)
Contact your child’s teacher for more information. All proceeds go toward the 5th grade fund.

We're excited to host our first Valentine's Dance since 2020! Nominations for Stratton King and Queen are due Wednesday, January 25. Information regarding King and Queen was sent home last week, but please reach out to your child's teacher if you need further information. All proceeds go toward the 5th Grade Fund.


Please join us today from 1-5pm to paint your piece of Stratton history! Your 4x4” tile will be displayed in a mural in the new school building! All alumni and former staff members of Stratton High, Stratton Jr. High, and Stratton Elementary are encouraged to participate.

Calendar Updates! (Revised 1/9/23)

School will resume tomorrow, January 9! We hope everyone had a safe and relaxing break!
Friday, January 13 will now be a regular instructional day for students; however, there will be no Pre-K that day.

Due to the water situation in Raleigh County, Raleigh County Schools will be closed for Tuesday, January 3 and Wednesday January 4.

We have started our mural project for the new school building! Students spent time the past 2 days creating their piece of history. Check out some of our staff creations from today, and if you are Stratton High School, Jr. High, or Elementary alumni, be sure to join us December 4 from 1-5pm to create your own piece of Stratton history!

Parents—Join us tomorrow from 4-5pm for Present at Stratton’s Table! Learn to make a holiday dish, win door prizes, and learn about the importance of school attendance! See you around the table!

Don’t forget to join us for Trick-or-Treat this afternoon from 4-5pm at Stratton! Start at the G Street gate and end at the Adamos Street gate. See you there!

Stratton TRIBUTE SPACE Project
· The new Stratton Elementary School will house a Tribute Space (room) to honor the legacy of Stratton High School (along with Stratton Junior High School and Stratton Elementary School).
· Raleigh County Schools is seeking memorabilia to house in the Tribute Space. Memorabilia may be donated or loaned to the school system. The school system intends to identify the person who donated each item that is housed in the Tribute Space (using an engraved recognition plate).
· Ideas for memorabilia include school newspapers, yearbooks, uniforms, shirts, lettermen jackets, pictures, and individual awards and/or recognitions. (These are just ideas…please do not feel limited by this list.)
