Discipline Policy

Stratton Elementary School will follow the Raleigh County Rights and Responsibilities Handbook (given out annually) in conjunction with the WV Code of Conduct. This policy sets forth the requirements that provide optimum learning conditions for both students and staff. Safety and order are the foundation of a positive school climate/culture that supports student academic achievement and personal social development. Disciplinary guidelines for student conduct are outlined in this document. The WV Code of Conduct may be found on the Raleigh County School’s webpage under policies.

Stratton Elementary will assure an orderly, safe, drug-‐free, violence and harassment-‐free learning environment through the use of various programs including elements of Respect and Protect, Positive Discipline, Pillars of Respect and The Leader In Me. Behavior Intervention Forms (BIFS) will be used to document and communicate inappropriate behavior and consequences to parents.
