• Beckley Area Foundation – Due March 1, 2023, must be completed online and you will need the recommender’s email. Beckley Area Foundation: https://www.bafwv.org/how-to-apply.html
• Liberty Foundation – Opens January 17th, due February 24th, must be completed online. You will need your updated GPA and Student Aid Report from FAFSA to complete. https://forms.gle/nwRziEdNGFrzpmba8
• J. Lee Scholarship now available and due March 17, 2023. Application can be found in your Class of 2023 Updates. You should be able to type in the document and save as “your name J Lee Scholarship” and you can send to the counselors to print out. A paper copy is available from the counselors if you need it.
• Albert Yanni Scholarship is available and due March 1, 2023 for students that have completed a CTE program in high school. ACT classes, agriculture, business, social work, and the cabinetmaking classes are all CTE classes. The document with more information is in your Schoology Class of 2023 updates.
• Joetta Lilly Memorial Scholarship – must be completed online and you will need the recommender’s email – for a 2 year or less programs (for example, ACT, New River, and BridgeValley programs) – you must include a document that lists your community service during high school. https://forms.gle/B13HjP1SzyFk1TeZ7
• Little General Application – Due February 24th, will need to be completed online. You will need a list of accomplishments and activities that you have completed. You will need your Raleigh County Schools email. You will also need 3 references with their name, occupation, address, and phone number. • Check the Scholarship/Financial of the School you are interested in attending for more scholarship opportunities.
• Complete the ACE application and WV HEAPS application after July 1, 2023, if you plan on attending ACT. The ACE application will be available at ACT when you register for classes. Contact ACT to see if you need to take the TABE or TEAS test for your program of choice.
• Promise Scholarship, for 4-year programs in WV. You have until the summer ACT/SAT exams to get the needed scores. See counselors if you need help registering for exam, or if you need a waiver.

Our Random Acts of Kindness Week is coming to an end today. We hope the Raider Nation community has taken on a challenge this week and spread joy to someone else. The last three days of challenges are:
Wednesday - Talk to someone you don't normally talk to. Ask them about their day.
Thursday - Offer to help someone
Friday - Brighten someone's day with a smile or kind word
Thank you to everyone who participated in this week and thank you to the students who used the weekly lessons in LINKS to make our school a better place!

Students interested in working at Lake Stephens this summer need to complete an application and submit it to the counselors by February 22. They will be at Liberty to interview the students that have turned an application in on March 2, 2023.

Today began our Random Acts of Kindness Week! We challenged the students to learn about Respect in LINKS and to write a thank you note to a teacher who has shown them kindness. We would like to challenge Raider Nation to do the same and write/say thank you to someone who has shown you kindness.


Liberty High School would like to thank RCFSC, Raleigh County Family Support Center, for donating $1,200 to help purchase books for our library! Our students will love seeing our library grow and inspire a new passion for reading.
